School and Library Visits:
Events & Visits
The writing process – I discuss my writing process and how I go from starting a book to finishing it, as well as giving tips for edits, revising, etc. I show examples, talk about some of the ways I have adapted my writing to work for me as a neurodivergent writer, and do a Q&A about my writing.
Me as a writer – I talk about my own writing career, showing examples from when I was a kid and sharing stories about my journey to publication. This includes a brief read aloud as well as a Q&A session.
My books – I talk about my books, why I wrote them, some of the changes they went through when writing, and I discuss the importance of the representation within them. This includes a brief read aloud as well as a Q&A session.
*Please note that I can also merge any of these topics together as desired.*

Costs and Scheduling:
Honorarium per day -
$250 per presentation, up to 4 presentations in a day + travel costs for non-local events.
For pre-recorded visits - $100 per recorded visit (this fee covers the initial recording as well as the follow up to answer further student questions).
For live visits: I’m willing to consider any number of days for a visit, but it will depend on timing. As I am currently a full-time teacher, it's hard to take time off during the school year. Visits will need to either be virtual and/or local to the Phoenix, AZ area and after my teaching hours. If they are not local/virtual then they need to be over my summer break (June/July) or line up with events that I am already traveling to.
Pre-recorded visits: I offer pre-recorded visits, where students send in their questions early and I record myself answering them while also chatting about one of the topics listed above. After watching the video, teachers can then email me follow up questions from their students, and I'll send back a second recorded response.
